Animals Love Rachael and Neil

Rachael and Neil are angels with the mange babies!

Rachael and Neil from the U.K. are in the second week of their month volunteering at Animal Aid. Working from 9 to 5, they spend invaluable time with dozens of animals each day, from wounded dogs, to baby donkeys and cows. They are ever cheerful and have already brightened the lives of so many animals.

When they arrived Rachael was assigned Brownie to be given extra love and special care. Brownie was recovering from a back injury caused by a road accident and needed encouragement. In large part thanks to Rachael’s TLC, Brownie was successfully released back to her neighborhood yesterday and is doing great.

Here are a few words from Rachael and Neil:

“We are loving everything here. Just being with the animals. It’s very satisfying seeing the response of the dogs in the morning when you’re taking them for a walk.

“We’ve been here just 2 weeks and they all recognize us now. Our time here had been spot on. It’s been going too fast! We can’t believe how fast the time has gone.

“It’s so rewarding to see animals when at first you don’t even know if they’re going to survive and then you see them getting back to health, and to know you’ve done something to help that is amazing. Especially with the depressed animals – to take them out and see that you are in fact improving their mood.

“Who wouldn’t want to play with puppies, donkeys and cows all day??

“It took about a day to feel totally at ease here.”
